Become a Rowing Coach

Saskatchewan Rowing has a trained Coach Facilitator and a Coach Evaluator based in our province. These individuals provide ongoing training, mentorship and evaluation to our provincial and club coaching teams.

Our Facilitator can also travel to support neighboring clubs, and provincial associations in need of coach development. To book a training, please contact saskrowing@sasktel.net or

Coach Training Levels

Learn To Row Instructor:
  • The NCCP Learn to Row (LTR) Instructor workshop is an extraordinary place to begin your coaching career, or to expand your current coaching knowledge.
  • This impactful 1.5 day workshop, led by experienced LTR instructors, will provide you with the confidence to run a safe and quality program that introduces beginners of all ages to the sport.
  • Not only does this workshop provide you with 12 lesson plans to use or adapt for your own program, but it also introduces drills, and how to set up equipment, to ensure a comfortable, injury-free, rowing experience.

RCA Coach:
  • If you want to coach competitive rowers, this workshop is the place to start.
  • Delivered over two weekends, this cutting-edge workshop provides an exceptional foundation for your coaching career and introduces new coaching methods that will enhance your program’s effectiveness.
  • There is a lot to learn -- therefore this workshop offers you hands on experiences working with rowers in practical situations during the first weekend. During the second weekend, after you have had time to use your new knowledge with the rowers you coach - you will be introduced to additional concepts that will further enhance your coaching and rower’s experiences.
