Become a Rowing Coach
Interested in coaching rowing in Saskatchewan or furthering your coach development, but not sure the process? You have stopped at the right place!
Getting Started
We are always looking for coaches at our clubs. We have three streams of coaching that you can become involved in: Learn to Row, RCA Coach (Club, Seniors, Masters), & RCA Performance Coach.
3 Steps to Get Started on Your Coaching Pathway
Learn to Row coaches are people who love rowing, who enjoy the thrill of seeing new rowers take their first strokes and are our best cheerleaders in the sport. The LTR Instructor workshop is an extraordinary place to begin your coaching career, or to expand your current coaching knowledge.
Coaches working with athletes in a non-competitive context should follow the RCA Learn to Row Coach Pathway. https://rowingcanada.org/uploads/2019/01/Rowing-Canada-Learn-to-Row-Pathway-v4.pdf
RCA Coach
If you want to coach competitive rowers, this workshop is the place to start. Delivered over two weekends, this cutting-edge workshop provides an exceptional foundation for your coaching career and introduces new coaching methods that will enhance your program’s effectiveness.
There is a lot to learn -- therefore this workshop offers you hands on experiences working with rowers in practical situations during the first weekend. During the second weekend, after you have had time to use your new knowledge with the rowers you coach - you will be introduced to additional concepts that will further enhance your coaching and rower’s experiences.
